Federico Campaiola

Description
Federico Campaiola is an Italian voice actor born in Rome on May 24, 1995, recognized for his extensive work dubbing anime and live-action films for the Italian market. He comes from a family with a strong tradition in dubbing, being the son of Monica Ward, the brother of Alessandro Campaiola, and the nephew of Luca and Andrea Ward, all established voice actors. His early entry into the field began during childhood, around the ages of four to ten, with work on commercials and announcements. After a brief pause, he resumed voice acting at the age of fourteen, taking on a wider array of roles. In 2015, he received the Premio Vincenzo Crocitti in the young talent section as an emerging actor.

Campaiola has lent his voice to a wide array of protagonists and key characters in numerous popular anime series and films. He is the Italian voice of Ray in The Promised Neverland, Yotasuke Takahashi in Blue Period, So Hishigata in Summer Time Rendering, and the protagonist Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling. His film work includes voicing Shouya Ishida in A Silent Voice, Cherry in Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, Ikoma in Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato, Taichi Yagami in Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, Kite in Japan Sinks: 2020, and Daisuke Shima in Uchū Senkan Yamato 2199: Hoshi-Meguru Hakobune. Other notable anime credits include Kabane in Kemono Jihen, Kiyoshi Fujino in Prison School, and Kisho Arima in Tokyo Ghoul: Jack.

Beyond anime, his voice is widely recognized in other genres. He is the Italian voice of Ryder in the children's series PAW Patrol and has dubbed numerous characters in live-action productions. His live-action dubbing credits are extensive and include providing the Italian voice for actors such as Tye Sheridan in films like Ready Player One, Lucas Hedges in Manchester by the Sea, and Timothée Chalamet in Beautiful Boy. He also voices Leonardo in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Il destino delle Tartarughe Ninja and has had roles in series ranging from Stranger Things, where he dubs Charlie Heaton, to Ahsoka, where he voices Eman Esfandi's character Ezra Bridger.

In an interview, Campaiola has spoken about his approach to voice acting, describing himself as a self-professed "nerd" with a deep passion for anime and manga, citing Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Ranking of Kings as particular favorites. He discussed the process of voicing a character who evolves, like Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, noting that he focused on conveying the character's growing confidence rather than drastically changing his vocal quality. Campaiola has also reflected on the changing nature of the dubbing profession, noting that voice actors are becoming more visible to the public through social media and conventions, a shift he views positively for building a connection with audiences.
