Clemen Larumbe

Clemen Larumbe is a Mexican voice actress known for her work in dubbing anime and other programs into Spanish. Her full name is Clemencia Larumbe Garrido, she was born in Mexico City, and she is based in Cuernavaca, Morelos. She comes from a family with a strong legacy in dubbing, as the daughter of actors Ismael Larumbe Sr. and Amparo Garrido, and the sister of fellow voice actors Ismael Larumbe and Armando Larumbe. In addition to her work in voice acting, she is a trained psychologist.
Larumbe has an extensive career voicing characters in numerous anime series and films, with a particularly notable body of work in productions from Studio Ghibli. Among her most recognized roles in this area are Ryoko Matsuzaki in From Up On Poppy Hill, Sadako Maki in The Secret World of Arrietty, Shige in My Neighbors the Yamadas, and Toko in Mahou Shoujo Lalabel. Her other credits for the studio include the role of Taeko's grandmother in Only Yesterday, Oroku-baba in the Mexican dub of Pom Poko, and Kosaka-sensei in Whisper of the Heart. Beyond Ghibli, her anime voice work spans a range of series and films, including Kobayashi in Martian Successor Nadesico, an engineer NERV in the films Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone and Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, as well as roles in Honey Honey no Suteki na Bōken.
Outside of anime, Larumbe is widely recognized for her role as the voice of Dr. Temperance Bones Brennan in the Spanish dub of the television series Bones. In addition to her on-screen character work, she is also active in the translation and adaptation of scripts for dubbing. Her translation credits include work on the Spanish versions of series such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Gintama, Ranma ½, and the 1985 dub of Robotech. For the Zima Dub version of The Secret World of Arrietty, in which she also voiced Sadako Maki, she handled the translation. In a 2021 podcast interview, she discussed her professional experiences, her favorite and most nostalgic roles, and her work in translation and adaptation.
