Kenta Kamakari is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on February 17, 1984, in Osaka Prefecture. He began his entertainment career in 2005, initially gaining recognition through stage performances, most notably in the popular musical adaptation of The Prince of Tennis, where he played the role of Ryo Shishido. This work in 2.5D musical theatre, which includes live stage adaptations of anime and manga, became a significant part of his early career. He is also a singer and was the lead vocalist for the rock band Cocoa Otoko.
In addition to his extensive work on stage and in live-action television dramas, Kamakari has built a career as a voice actor in anime. One of his prominent voice roles is Edgeshot, also known as Shinya Kamihara, in the long-running series My Hero Academia. He began voicing this character in 2018 and has continued the role in subsequent seasons and the 2024 animated film My Hero Academia: You're Next. Another notable anime role is Sakai in the 2018 series The Thousand Noble Musketeers.
