Shinobu Satou is a Japanese actress and voice actress affiliated with the theatre company Gekidan Subaru. She was born on June 22, 1964, in Akita Prefecture, Japan.

Satou has built a extensive career in anime voice acting spanning over three decades, beginning in the early 1990s. One of her notable early roles was as Natsume in the television anime Yu Yu Hakusho in 1994. In 1999, she voiced Chizuru Tachibana in the series Puppet Master Sakon. During the same year, she also provided voices for characters in other prominent series, including a role in GTO as the mother of Aizawa and as an old woman in ∀ Gundam.

Throughout the 2000s, Satou continued to take on a wide variety of roles, frequently portraying mothers and other supporting characters. She had a recurring role as Gyokumen Koshu in the Saiyuki franchise, appearing in幻想魔伝 最遊記 (2000), 最遊記RELOAD (2003), 最遊記RELOAD GUNLOCK (2004), and 最遊記RELOAD BLAST (2017). She is also known for multiple roles in the long-running series Case Closed, also known as名探偵コナン, where she first voiced a character,清水奈奈子, in 1997 and has since played various other roles, including Ayumi Yoshida's mother in 1999. Her other television anime credits include parts in 犬夜叉 (2001), 魔法遣いに大切なこと ～夏のソラ～ (2003), and 風の聖痕 (2007).

Her filmography also extends to original video animations (OVAs) and theatrical films. In 2000, she voiced Christina von Reutheim in the OVA 銀河英雄傳說外傳 決闘者. She was also part of the cast for the 1999 theatrical film 名探偵コナン 世紀末の魔術師, providing the voice for Ayumi's mother. Her more recent work includes roles in the 2022 television anime 恋愛フロップス and as Anna Dankworth in 連盟空軍航空魔法音楽隊ルミナスウィングス. In addition to animation, Satou has worked on dubbing foreign films and television series, with credits including the 2017 film アサシン クリード and the 2024 film 猿の惑星/キングダム.
