John Novak

John Novak is an actor and voice actor known for his extensive work in anime series dubbed by the Ocean Group in Vancouver, Canada. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on September 9, 1955. His career encompasses a wide range of voice roles in animated series and films, as well as appearances in live-action television and movies.

Novak's voice can be heard in numerous English adaptations of popular anime. In the series The Story of Saiunkoku, he provided the voice for Advisor Sho. He voiced Uzumi Nara Athha in both Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and its sequel, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. He also contributed voices to the series Death Note, where he played Steve Mason and Zellogi, and to InuYasha as Ungai. Other notable anime voice credits include roles in Black Lagoon, Key the Metal Idol, and Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales.

Beyond anime, Novak's voice work extends to Western animation and video games. He voiced the character Caligo in the animated film Barbie: The Pearl Princess and played the character Skalidor in the television series LEGO Ninjago. His video game credits include the role of Kelly Layzner in Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space.

Throughout his career, Novak has frequently collaborated with Ocean Productions, the Vancouver-based studio responsible for dubbing numerous anime series and animated projects. This recurring association has made him a familiar voice to audiences of English-dubbed anime produced in Canada. In addition to his voice work, Novak is widely recognized in Canada for his live-action role as the Park Ranger in a long-running series of commercials for Kokanee beer.
