Description
Heike Schroetter is a distinguished German actress and voice actress with a career spanning several decades, born on January 19, 1956, in Ribnitz-Damgarten. Her path to performance began with classical ballet training during her school years, followed by formal studies at the Staatliche Schauspielschule Rostock (State Drama School in Rostock) from 1972 to 1975, where she also received training in dance and singing. Following her education, she was engaged at the Städtische Bühnen Erfurt (Erfurt Municipal Theatres) for six years and also performed as a guest at the Schauspielhaus in Leipzig and with the ensemble of GDR television. After a period in her life that included imprisonment for attempting to leave the GDR and subsequent release to West Germany, she continued her stage career, performing with the free theater group Transformtheater in Berlin, as well as at the Renaissance Theater in Berlin and the Grenzlandtheater in Aachen.
Schroetter began her extensive voice acting career in 1983. Over the years, she has lent her distinctive voice to well over a thousand dubbing roles, becoming a familiar presence in German-language versions of international films and television series. She is the regular German voice for a host of renowned actresses, including Kirstie Alley, Sharon Stone, Brigitte Nielsen, Kim Cattrall, Jane Lynch, and Alfre Woodard, among many others.
In the realm of anime and animation, Schroetter has taken on a variety of roles that showcase her vocal range. In the popular series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, she voices the role of Großer Weiser (Great Sage), the unique skill within the protagonist Rimuru that provides analysis and support. Her involvement in this series was part of the German dubbed version produced by TNT Media GmbH, which premiered on German television in July 2020. She is also known for voicing the character Moukaku in the anime series Ikki Tousen: Xtreme Xecutor. In the anime Flint: The Time Detective, she took on the role of Jillian Grey. Her work extends further into animation with roles such as the real estate agent in the German dub of the long-running series SpongeBob SquarePants. In the world of My Little Pony, she provided the voice of Princess Luna in the series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic starting in 2011. She has also contributed to the Star Wars animated universe, voicing the Nightsister Talzin in The Clone Wars and the pirate Phee Genoa in The Bad Batch.
