Description
Bill Timoney is an American actor, voice actor, director, and script writer with a career spanning several decades in both on-camera and voice-over work. He was born William Regan Timoney on March 5, 1958, in Teaneck, New Jersey. He is perhaps best known to general audiences for his long-running role as Alfred Vanderpool on the soap opera All My Children, which he played from 1982 to 1987 and again in cameo appearances through 2005. Timoney entered the anime dubbing industry in 1991 and has since become a prolific figure in the field, contributing not only his voice but also his skills as a director and adapter for numerous English-language versions of Japanese anime.

Timoney's body of voice work in anime is extensive and varied. One of his earliest and most notable roles is that of the hero Parn in the original Record of Lodoss War OVA series and its television version, Chronicles of the Heroic Knight. He also voiced Tatsuo Nagumo, the titular character in the controversial and influential Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend, often using the pseudonym Danny Bush. In the fan-centric comedy Genshiken, he provided the voice for the otaku Harunobu Madarame, a role he reprised across the series and its OVAs.

Beyond these, his anime credits are wide-ranging. He voiced Mr. Sakano in Gravitation, Setora in the Queen's Blade series, Hajime Murata in Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars, and Kuroneko in Trigun. For the long-running Pokémon anime, Timoney has voiced numerous characters under the pseudonym Billy Regan, including Harley, Conway, Nando, Dr. Kenzo, and Izzy. His voice can also be heard in classic and popular series such as Cowboy Bebop, Digimon, Fist of the North Star, Mobile Suit Gundam, Outlaw Star, and Serial Experiments Lain.

In addition to acting, Timoney has made significant contributions behind the scenes. He has served as voice director and script adapter for several prominent anime dubs. His directorial and adaptation work includes the series Gravitation, Genshiken and its sequel, Gokudo, and the OVAs Jewel BEM Hunter Lime and Madara. He is known to work frequently with his wife, actress Georgette Reilly, and the two have voiced characters together in projects like Pokémon.

Throughout his career, Timoney has employed several pseudonyms in addition to his own name, including Billy Regan, Danny Bush, and Randy Woodcock. His work is characterized by a long-standing presence in the New York-based dubbing industry, contributing to a wide array of titles from the early days of anime localization in North America through to the present.
