His anime-specific voice roles include voicing the character Yuichiro Kumada in the first season of the German dub of the anime series Sailor Moon. He also voiced Elec Man in the German version of the Mega Man anime.

Malzacher is highly regarded for his recurring voice work for several international actors. He is the regular German dubbing voice for Ken Jeong, Mads Mikkelsen, Tom Hollander, Michael Stuhlbarg, Cary Elwes, and David Hewlett, among others. His voice is also widely recognized for roles such as Dr. Rodney McKay in the series Stargate Atlantis (dubbing David Hewlett) and Jack McFarland in Will & Grace (dubbing Sean Hayes).

Beyond his work as a voice actor, Axel Malzacher has earned significant recognition for his work as a dialogue director and writer. He has been responsible for the German dubbing of numerous high-profile films and series. His accolades include the Deutscher Preis für Synchron (German Synchronization Prize) for Outstanding Synchronization Direction for the film Syriana in 2007, and for Outstanding Synchronized Animated Film for Ratatouille in 2008. He has also received multiple "Die Silhouette" awards for his dialogue direction and writing on projects like Ratatouille, Scrubs – Die Anfänger, and Will & Grace. His extensive body of work, encompassing over a thousand dubbing roles, has established him as a leading figure in the German dubbing industry.
