Marcello Cortese

Marcello Cortese is an Italian voice actor and dubbing director, known for his work in the Italian-language adaptations of numerous anime series and animated films. He is the son of film director Ernesto Cortese and founded the dubbing studio Dream&Dream S.r.l.

Cortese has lent his voice to a wide array of characters across various anime. In the series Slow Step, he is the Italian voice of the character Satou Yamakazura. He also voiced Takashi Mitsuhashi in the anime Due come noi, the Italian title for Kyou Kara Ore Wa!!. His roles extend to the cyberpunk series Parasite Dolls as Takahashi and to the world of Shin Kyūseishu Densetsu Hokuto no Ken: Toki-den, where he voiced the character Sōga.

Cortese is particularly recognized for his contributions to the Italian versions of classic space opera anime. He voiced Shinobu Fujiwara in God Bless Dancougar. He also took on the role of Lugal II in Final Yamato. Most notably, he has been a voice for the iconic character Captain Harlock, performing the role in the film Arcadia of My Youth and its sequel series, Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Orbit SSX. His other notable anime roles include several characters in the long-running series One Piece, such as Rockstar, Yasop in his first voice, and Drakul Mihawk in episode 45, as well as Tomoaki Araide and Gin in Detective Conan.
