Kazukiyo Nishikiori

Description
Kazukiyo Nishikiori is a Japanese entertainer whose primary career has been as a singer, actor, and theatre director, with voice acting representing a smaller facet of his professional work. He was born in Tokyo on May 22, 1965. Nishikiori is most widely known as a member and the leader of the popular 1980s J-pop idol group Shonentai, which debuted in 1985 under the Johnny & Associates talent agency. His career began in childhood when he joined the agency in 1977.

While his main oeuvre is in music and on-stage and screen acting, Nishikiori has provided his voice for a small number of anime productions. He is notably recognized for his role as the voice of the character Terry Bogard in the anime adaptations of the Fatal Fury video game series. He voiced this character in the 1992 OVA Battle Fighters Garou Densetsu, its 1993 sequel Battle Fighters Garou Densetsu 2, and the 1994 animated film Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture.

In the original video animation series Yamato 2520, which was released between 1994 and 1996, Nishikiori voiced the character Nabu Ancient, as noted in the cast listings for the series. Beyond these roles, other voice acting credits are not prominent in his career bibliography. His activities since the 1990s have increasingly focused on theatre direction, and he has worked extensively as a stage director and playwright. In late 2020, Nishikiori left Johnny & Associates and now works as a freelancer, continuing his work in theatre.
