Eiji Moriyama is a Japanese stage actor and voice actor born on October 3, 1976, in Nagasaki Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency Sun Music Group and is also a member of the entertainment group pnish. While his career is prominently defined by his work in theatre, he has also contributed to various anime and video game voice acting roles.
Moriyama began his professional career in the early 2000s. One of his earliest and most notable voice acting roles came in 2001 when he voiced the character Hisashi Uehara in the original video animation (OVA) adaptation of the shōjo manga Good Morning Call. This 19-minute OVA, produced by Shueisha and NAS, featured Moriyama in the lead male role as the aloof and popular high school student who ends up sharing an apartment with the protagonist, Nao Yoshikawa.
Moriyama's most extensive voice work has been within the franchise of The Prince of Tennis. He provided the voice for the character Shinji Ibu in the long-running anime television series, its subsequent OVAs, and the 2005 movie The Prince of Tennis: Atobe's Gift. His association with the franchise extends beyond voice acting, as he is also well-known for his stage performances in the Tenimyu musical adaptations, where he originated the role of Takeshi Momoshiro in the first-generation Seigaku cast and later played Nanjiroh Echizen. Additionally, he voiced Kotaro Sasaki in the anime Eyeshield 21 and Kanzaki Koumi in Dr. Rin ni Kiitemite!. In video games, his credits include the role of Midou Ban in a GetBackers: Dakkanya game and multiple characters in The Prince of Tennis video game series.
