Naomi Matamura

Naomi Matamura is a Japanese voice actress from Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture who has been active in the industry since the 1990s. She is a graduate of the Yoyogi Animation Academy. Throughout her career, she has been affiliated with several agencies, including Bring Up, and is associated with Groupe Impact and the Alter Ego Theater Company.

Matamura has built a career voicing a wide range of characters, from young boys to whimsical side roles, demonstrating considerable versatility. One of her prominent early roles was as the protagonist Tokio in the 1993 anime series Dragon League. She also voiced the character Junpei in the long-running series Kochikame: Tokyo Beat Cops from 1998 to 2004.

Her work is particularly notable within the Transformers franchise. She provided the Japanese voice for the Autobot J-Four, known as Midnight Express in English, in the 2000 series Transformers: Robots in Disguise. She also voiced the alien character Gōmya in an episode of the Beast Wars Neo cartoon.

Matamura has a significant body of work in the anime series Rurouni Kenshin, where she voiced characters such as Eiji Mishima and other younger boy roles in both the television series and the film Rurouni Kenshin: Requiem for the Ishin Patriots. Her other anime credits span numerous series, including Akazukin Chacha, Hana Yori Dango, Ojamajo Doremi, and Medarot. In addition to television and film, her career has extended to original video animations, such as Baby★Love, and video games like GeGeGe no Kitarou – Ibun Youkai Kitan.
