Pietro Mário, born Pietro Mário Francesco Bongiancchini on June 29, 1939, in Italy, was an Italian-Brazilian actor and dublador, the Portuguese term for voice actor. He moved to Brazil with his family in 1947 and began his artistic career in theater in 1958, later transitioning to television and dubbing. He passed away on August 31, 2020.

In the realm of anime and animated series, Pietro Mário built an extensive portfolio. He is notably recognized for providing the voice of Deus in the series "In The Beginning - The Bible Stories" and Anton Lupeski in "Dracula: Sovereign Of The Damned". His other prominent anime roles include the Narrator for the Brazilian Portuguese versions of "Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files" and its movie "Poltergeist Report". He also voiced Okkoto in the film "Princess Mononoke," Beelzebumon, Dobermon, and other characters in "Digimon Tamers," Big Daddy in "Gungrave," and Boris Balkov in "Beyblade". He was the voice for multiple characters in the "Tenchi Muyo!" franchise, including Katsuhiro Masaki, and took on the role of Doll, the entity Existence X, in "Saga of Tanya the Evil". His work extended to other series such as "Sonic X," "Lupin the 3rd," and "Cyborg 009".

Beyond anime, Mário's career as a dublador was prolific and highly distinguished. He was the official Portuguese voice for several iconic characters, including Mestre Yoda from the "Star Wars" franchise, Rafiki from "The Lion King," Capitão Caverna (Captain Caveman), and Tony Soprano from the series "The Sopranos". His voice can also be heard in numerous Disney films, such as the Sultan in "Aladdin," Governor Ratcliffe in "Pocahontas," Maurice in "Beauty and the Beast," and Friend Owl in "Bambi". His work encompassed a wide range of live-action and animated productions, including "Harry Potter," "Kung Fu Panda," "Ice Age," and the game "League of Legends".

Mário's on-screen acting career was equally significant, most notably as the beloved presenter of the groundbreaking children's television program "Capitão Furacão," which aired on TV Globo from its inauguration in 1965 until 1970. He also appeared in numerous telenovelas for Globo over several decades, with his final role being in "Deus Salve o Rei" in 2018.
