Celso Alves

Celso Alves was a Brazilian voice actor, dubbing director, and narrator, recognized for his extensive work in anime and film dubbing. Based in São Paulo, he was active in the industry from the 1990s until his passing in 2016.
Alves built a substantial career lending his voice to a wide array of characters in anime series and films. Among his most recognized roles is Vega in the Brazilian dubbing of the anime film Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. He also provided the first voice for Ken Wakashimazu in the anime series Captain Tsubasa J, known in Brazil as Super Campeões J. Additionally, he voiced the character Yuichi Niki in the anime Urotsukidōji: Legend of the Overfiend, titled A Lenda do Demônio in Brazil.
His portfolio includes a range of other notable anime roles. He voiced Takeshi Nakazato in Initial D and its sequel, Daley Wong in Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, and Kabaji Munehiro in The Prince of Tennis. He contributed to the long-running series Dragon Ball Z as the character Dende. His work also extended to major franchises, with roles such as Tessai Tsukabishi in Bleach, Dolcetto in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Gravity Man in the 1994 Mega Man animated series. In addition to these, he voiced characters in Saint Seiya (Os Cavaleiros do Zodíaco) as Tremor de Sagita in the second dubbing, and in Shurato as Sr. Hidaka.
Beyond anime, Alves performed voice work in numerous films and television series. He was the first voice for Dr. Henry Wu in the initial dubbing of Jurassic Park.
