TV-Series
Description
Let is a member of the Dragonrace, a race of dragon-like beings who originally reside in the Mystic Realm known as Makai. He is introduced in the series as Java Let Dahaka, a sentinoid of the Dragonrace and formerly one of Demon Card’s Palace Guardians. At the time of his first appearance, he is 23 years old, having been born on December 4th. As a Palace Guardian, he was the second most powerful in the Tower of Din, serving under King Raregroove. His initial demeanor is that of a warrior who seems to live only for combat, but his strong personal code of honor is the reason he never uses a Dark Bring, unlike many of his former allies. During a duel with Haru Glory, Let is defeated but is deeply moved by Haru’s conviction to create a world of peace. This encounter prompts him to change sides: he helps escort Haru, Elie, and Gale out of the collapsing tower, formally leaves Demon Card, and later joins Haru’s group as a Rave Warrior.
Let’s personality is marked by a quiet, observant nature; he speaks only when necessary and often serves as the voice of reason within the group. He possesses extensive knowledge of the world outside Symphonia and is highly perceptive, frequently pointing out flaws in plans. Despite his serious side, he has an amusing streak, especially in his interactions with his companions. He frequently bickers with Hamrio Musica, whom he mockingly calls “Goth Boy,” and their rivalry is playful yet genuine. Elie, meanwhile, constantly refers to him as a lizard or crocodile, which frustrates Let because he always insists he is a dragon. Let’s deep-seated motivation stems from a personal vendetta against Jegan, a member of the Oracion Six. Jegan turned Let’s lover, Julia, into a feral dragon after she failed the Dragonrace rite of passage, and he kept her under his control through magic. Let originally joined Demon Card to gain strength and find a way to exact revenge and free Julia.
Over the course of the story, Let undergoes significant development. His most transformative moment comes during his battle with Jegan, when he realizes he cannot defeat him in his current form. He forces himself through the Dragonrace’s rite of passage, a trial normally undertaken at age 20 but far more difficult at 23. After nearly losing himself to his feral dragon instincts, he succeeds and gains a human-like appearance, though he retains his Dragonrace blood and abilities. This transformation greatly increases his power, but it is still not enough to overcome Jegan without help. In a later confrontation, Let manages to administer a life-saving elixir to Julia, who reverts to her human form and saves him in turn. Their reunion is a key emotional milestone.
Let’s role in the group evolves from a rival to a trusted ally. He is a formidable martial artist who relies on his fists and his Dragonrace traits: enhanced eyesight, the ability to breathe fire, and the use of a powerful technique called “The Roar of the Dragon God.” His knowledge and strategic mind make him invaluable, and he often acts as a stabilising influence. In his final major battle against the demon lord Immortal Uta, Let is forced to release the seal on his full dragon form, sacrificing his humanity and emotions to defeat Uta. He appears to die from the side effects, but is later saved by the Star Memory. After a year of solitary travel, he reunites with his friends and shows clear happiness that Haru is still alive. By the end of the series, he remains a loyal friend and partner to Julia, though she pushes him to find gainful employment. Let’s journey is one of redemption, personal growth, and the power of bonds, moving from a solitary fighter obsessed with revenge to a protector who willingly gives up everything for his comrades.
