Doug Stone is a Canadian-born American voice actor with a prolific career spanning several decades, primarily known for his extensive work in English dubs of anime, video games, and Western animated series. He was born Douglas David Stone on December 27, 1950, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His career in voice acting began in the early 1970s, with one of his earliest roles being in the English dub of the animated short Panda! Go, Panda! in 1972. Before fully committing to entertainment, Stone had a varied professional background that included running his own manufacturing businesses and working as a computer specialist for IBM and a computer security manager for General Foods of Canada. He eventually relocated to Los Angeles in the mid-1980s to pursue voice acting full-time.

Stone has built an impressive and versatile portfolio, voicing hundreds of characters across numerous titles. He is associated with several major anime dubbing studios, including Bang Zoom! Entertainment, NYAV Post, and Studiopolis. Among his most recognized and enduring roles in anime and animation are Matt Trakker in the 1980s series M.A.S.K., Shingen Kishitani in Durarara!!, and Fugaku Uchiha, the father of Sasuke, in the Naruto series. He is also well-known to video game fans for his iconic portrayal of the psychic antagonist Psycho Mantis in Metal Gear Solid. His voice can also be heard as Dayakka and Guame in Gurren Lagann, Stoner in Eureka Seven, and Dr. Kuseno in One Punch Man.

He provided voices for Otto in Fena: Pirate Princess, Hiroshi Sosoda in Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan, the Chief in LBX Girls, and Hanaoka in March comes in like a lion. He also voiced Wilson in Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Carmine (The Heat) in Super Crooks, and Boris Meier in B: The Beginning Succession. His role as Tohlim in The Deer King, Jimba Ral in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin: Advent of the Red Comet, and the character Halu-Elu Dolu-do in the Godzilla anime films (The Planet Eater and City on the Edge of Battle) are also part of his extensive credit list. Further credits include Maeda in Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, Shiro Suzuki in the Detective Conan special, and Kumoshichi in Ghost Slayers Ayashi. His long career is further evidenced by earlier roles such as J.J. in Zillion: Burning Night, Desslok in Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato, and Detective Minoru Sagisaka in Karas. He has voiced Giren Zabi in the Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy, Yamabe in Journey to Hiroshima, Kunio Hikita in Japan Sinks: 2020, Liu Bei in Sangokushi: Eiyū-tachi no Yoake, and Mitsuhiro Bertrand in the Fafner series.

Throughout his career, Stone has also worked extensively as a voice director and casting director through his company, Doug Stone Enterprises, notably on the Tenchi Muyo! franchise. His contributions to the industry have been recognized with five Golden Reel Awards from the Motion Picture Sound Editors for outstanding achievement in voice casting for dubbing. He is also known to work under the alternative names David Orozco and Gully Jimson.
