Description
Dayakka Littner is first known as the chief of Littner Village, a position he holds when the story begins. He shares his origins with Yoko Littner, growing up in the same community before the destructive attacks of the Beastmen forced the survivors to adapt. As a leader, he is defined by his level-headedness, reliability, and strong sense of responsibility, qualities that make him a natural authority figure and a grounding presence among more impulsive companions. Unlike the hot-blooded and reckless Kamina, Dayakka is calm and composed, acting as a practical strategist who prioritizes the safety and well-being of his people.

Throughout the conflict against the Spiral King, Dayakka joins Team Gurren after being inspired by their victories to steal a Gunmen of his own, which he names the Dayakkaiser. Following the capture of the enemy vessel Dai-Gunzan, he transitions from piloting his own mech to becoming the captain of the newly christened battleship Dai-Gurren, ceding the controls of the Dayakkaiser to Kiyoh Bachika. In this command role, his tactical oversight and steady demeanor prove vital for the team, often acting as a combat coordinator and ensuring the ship operates effectively during intense battles.

In the period of peace following Lordgenome's defeat and the construction of Kamina City, Dayakka accepts a government position as the Minister of Food Affairs. During this time, he marries Kiyoh Bachika, and they have a daughter together. When the Anti-Spiral threat emerges and triggers the Human Extermination System, he willingly resigns his post to rejoin the reformed Team Dai-Gurren, retaking his place at the helm of the battleship, now upgraded to the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren. This decision highlights a core motivation: a deep commitment to protecting his living family and friends, a belief he explicitly states is more important than dwelling on fallen heroes like Kamina.

His relationships are central to his character. He is a good and long-standing friend of Yoko Littner, having protected their village together. His marriage to Kiyoh is a notable source of pride and affection; during the final battle against the Anti-Spiral's Grand Zamboa, he famously uses a technique called the I-Got-The-Best-Wife-In-The-Universe Swing, wrapping an anchor around the enemy to hurl it away from Earth. This moment encapsulates his blend of reliable strength and heartfelt devotion. He also shares a close bond with his younger comrades, Gimmy and Darry, helping them break free from a multidimensional labyrinth by reclaiming their Core Drills alongside Simon. Notably, among the original Gunmen pilots who joined the fight inspired by Kamina, Dayakka is the only one to survive through the end of the series, a testament to his resilience and perhaps his more cautious nature.

Throughout the movie events, Dayakka pilots the Dayakkaiser Gunmen when on the front lines and serves as the captain of Team Dai-Gurren's flagship vessels. His abilities lie not in raw, explosive power but in steady leadership, tactical command, and unwavering reliability in the face of overwhelming odds, providing the necessary balance that allows the more dynamic fighters on his team to succeed.
