Sasuga held several major voice roles throughout her extensive career. She was the first and only voice of Tarao Fuguta, known as Tara-chan, in the long-running animated television series Sazae-san from its start in 1969 until her death in 2023. She also voiced the character Akubi in The Genie Family and its related series. Throughout her decades of work, Sasuga was associated with productions based on the works of manga artist Fujio Akatsuka, providing voices for characters in series such as Tensai Bakabon, Osomatsu-kun, and The Genie Family. Her most significant and sustained collaboration was with the staff and cast of Sazae-san, a role that defined her legacy. In 2019, Sasuga was recognized by Guinness World Records for having the longest career as a voice actor for the same character in an animated television series, a record she held for her 50-year portrayal of Tara-chan in Sazae-san.
