Luis Bayardo

Description
Luis Bayardo is a Mexican first actor with a career spanning over sixty years in film, theater, television, and dubbing. Born Luis Jorge Bayardo Ramírez on October 28, 1935, in Tecolotlán, Jalisco, he studied acting at the Instituto Cinematográfico Teatral de Radio y Televisión. He began his artistic career in the late 1950s as a theater actor, debuting on television in 1960 with the telenovelas Espejo de sombras and El juicio de los padres.

While Bayardo is widely recognized for his extensive work in telenovelas, he has also built a significant career as a voice actor for Latin American dubs, particularly for Walt Disney Pictures. He is known for voicing lead characters in classic Disney animated films, including Bernard the mouse in The Rescuers and its sequel The Rescuers Down Under, Timothy Q. Mouse in Dumbo, and the adult Bambi in Bambi. His voice work also extends to other animated productions; he provided voices for multiple characters, including the Cook, the Painter, and the Poet, in the first Mexican dub of The Smurfs, and voiced a character in the film Cars. Bayardo has spoken about the value of dubbing as an acting discipline, noting that it teaches an actor to convey emotion and intention using only their voice.

Throughout his career, Bayardo has participated in a vast number of telenovelas for Televisa, with some of his most notable roles including Ramón Fernández in Quinceañera, Gustavo Rueda in Alcanzar una estrella, Francisco I. Madero in El vuelo del águila, and Ciro Palafox in Mañana es para siempre. His work in film includes roles in En el último trago and Los signos del zodiaco. For his contributions as an actor, he has received numerous accolades and nominations, including nominations for a Premio TVyNovelas as Best First Actor for his roles in La esposa virgen and Pasión y poder.
