Bronwen Mantel is a Canadian actress with an extensive career in voice acting for animated series and films, as well as live-action television and movies. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, on October 29, 1948. Her early performance background included training in ballet at the National Ballet School of Canada, though her dance ambitions were curtailed by a car accident. She later graduated from Bishop's University with a degree in Theatre Arts.
Mantel has been active in the entertainment industry since at least 1973 and has lent her voice to a wide array of animated projects. Her voice work in anime and animated series dubbed into English is particularly prolific. She is known for several roles in classic series from the 1980s. In the anime series Huckleberry no Bōken, known in English as Huckleberry Finn, she voiced the characters Widow Douglas and Tommy.
