Peter Whitman was a Canadian actor who provided English-language voices for several anime titles produced in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Born on December 22, 1947, in Cornwall, Ontario, his career spanned both live-action film and voice acting for animation. His on-screen appearances included roles in films such as Superman II and The Spy Who Loved Me. He passed away on July 5, 1995, in London, England.

Whitman's work in anime is primarily associated with English dubs produced for the United Kingdom market during the early 1990s. A notable role was as the voice of Moomin Papa for the first 47 episodes of the 1990 television series Tanoshii Moomin Ikka, known in English as Moomin. He also contributed to several English-dubbed anime films and original video animations. In the feature film Odin: Starlight Mutiny, he voiced the character Neroda. For the OVA series Dominion Tank Police, produced by Manga UK, he was the voice of the tank mechanic Chaplain. Another of his anime credits includes the role of Kawamata in the Judge OVA. He also had uncredited voice roles in the film Venus Wars.
