Stephen Apostolina is an American voice actor and playwright with an extensive career in anime dubbing, animation, and video games, spanning over three decades. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, he developed an early interest in drama during high school and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Ohio University in 1980. After graduating, he spent time in New York and Florida before relocating to Los Angeles in 1982 to pursue acting professionally. His on-screen career includes appearances in television series such as Amazing Stories and the HBO film The Heist, but he is perhaps best known for his prolific work in voice-over, a field in which he has contributed to thousands of episodes and films. In addition to his voice acting, Apostolina is an accomplished playwright and director; his play Flight of the Penguin received a Drama-Logue Award for Best Playwriting and was nominated for LA Weekly Awards. He is known for his portrayal of major characters such as the powerful antagonist Makoto Shishio in the Sony dub of Rurouni Kenshin and as Ken Masters in the Animaze dub of Street Fighter II V. His voice can also be heard in numerous other prominent series, including providing the voice of Jegan in Rave Master, Oboro in Naruto, and Dakuan in the acclaimed film Ninja Scroll. His work extended to OVAs and films, with credits including Giant Robo: The Animation, Macross Plus, Armitage III, and Perfect Blue. In the realm of video games, his voice acting credits include Brave Fencer Musashi, the Naruto: Clash of Ninja series, and Zatch Bell!: Mamodo Fury, where he reprised his role as Uri from the anime.
