Carlos Freixo is a Portuguese actor and voice actor, born on February 5, 1956. He is considered one of the most prominent and recognizable voices in Portuguese animation dubbing. His career began in theatre in 1980, where he was directed by Carlos Avilez at the Teatro Experimental de Cascais and was part of the Companhia Nacional I at the Teatro São Luiz. He also has credits in Portuguese television series and telenovelas such as Médico de Família, Morangos com Açúcar, and Lua Vermelha.

Freixo entered the world of dubbing in 1979 through a casting by RTP, with his first work in the Japanese animated series Nils Holgersson during the 1980s. He became a prolific dubbing director and voice actor, primarily working with Matinha Estúdios Som. A landmark achievement in his career was directing the first European Portuguese dubbing of a feature-length animation for cinema, Disney's The Lion King, in 1994, a pivotal moment that established the practice of dubbing animated films in Portugal. He also voiced the adult Simba in this film.

Throughout his extensive career, Freixo has lent his voice to a vast array of iconic characters from major studios like Warner Bros., Disney, and DreamWorks. He is the regular Portuguese voice for numerous classic characters, including Goofy, Daffy Duck, Sylvester the Cat, Tigger, Elmer Fudd, and Wile E. Coyote. His filmography includes major roles such as Hamm in the Toy Story franchise, Stitch in Lilo & Stitch, Simba in The Lion King sequels, Mewtwo in the first Pokémon movie, the Magic Mirror in Shrek, and Vernon Dursley in the early Harry Potter films. He also provided numerous voices for the Portuguese version of the series Phineas and Ferb.

In addition to his work on Western animation, Carlos Freixo has been involved in the dubbing of several anime series and films for the Portuguese market. He served as dubbing director for the Portuguese versions of projects like Huckleberry Finn Monogatari, the first two Pokémon movies, and Thumbelina: A Magical Story. His voice acting in anime includes the role of Aramis and King Louis XIII in Anime Sanjūshi (The Three Musketeers), Dr. Mitchell and Muff Potter in Huckleberry Finn Monogatari, the narrator in Pokémon 2000, and the character Cambalhota in Thumbelina: A Magical Story.
