Nicole Fontaine

Nicole Fontaine is a Canadian voice actor based in Quebec, primarily known for her extensive work in the French dubbing of anime and animated series for the North American market. Her career is distinguished by numerous leading roles in classic animated programs that were broadcast in Canada and beyond during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

Fontaine's voice is featured in several major anime series from that era. She voiced the title role in the Quebec French dub of the 1986 anime special Coral Reef Legend: Elfie of the Blue Sea. She also took on the role of Marina in the 1975 anime film Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. Her work includes voicing Rukio, the daughter of the protagonist, in the 1966 anime series New Jungle Emperor, Go Ahead Leo!. In the classic magical girl series Mahōtsukai Sally, she voiced the character Suzon, known as Minifée in the French version. Additionally, she played Pitcheline in the film Manga Aesop Monogatari.

Beyond the specific examples, Fontaine's career encompassed a wide range of other prominent roles. She provided the voice for the title character in Alice in Wonderland, Claire in Heidi, Girl of the Alps, and Annie Brighton in a Canadian dub of Candy Candy. Her film work also included the role of Annie in the feature Nagagutsu Sanjūshi and a voice in the Russian animated film The Little Mermaid from 1968.
