Paola Tovaglia was an Italian voice actress, television presenter, and singer, born in Milan on April 9, 1965. Her career, though brief, left a significant mark on Italian children's entertainment and anime dubbing during the late 1980s and early 1990s. She began her career in the mid-1980s, initially participating in television talent shows while playing guitar and singing her own songs. In 1986, she started her voice acting career after successfully auditioning for a role in the live-action series based on the anime Kiss Me Licia. Throughout her career, she was also known by the pseudonyms Paola Maralli and Peev Agliato, the latter being an anagram used for her musical collaborations.
Tovaglia became a prominent voice for characters in numerous anime series dubbed for Italian television. She is well-recognized for providing the Italian voice of Hilary Kamiji, the protagonist in the rhythmic gymnastics anime Hikari no Densetsu, broadcast in Italy as Hilary. She also voiced the character Milly in two different series: Hello! Lady Lin and its predecessor, Lady Lady!!. Her extensive voice work includes a wide range of other notable roles. She was the voice of Lavinia in A Little Princess Sara, Jimmy Bean in Pollyanna, and Jonathan in Oh! Family.
