Consuelo Vives, often credited professionally as Chelo Vivares, is a Spanish actress and voice artist born on April 21, 1952, in Madrid, Spain. She began her career in Spanish television in the mid-1970s with appearances in series such as Cuentos y leyendas and La señora García se confiesa. Vives entered the dubbing industry in 1979, initially providing Spanish voices for characters in films like The In-Laws and the television series Fame. From 1983 to 1987, she gained widespread recognition as the principal puppeteer for Espinete, the iconic pink hedgehog on Barrio Sésamo, the Spanish adaptation of Sesame Street. This role cemented her status as a beloved figure in Spanish children's entertainment.

Following her work on Barrio Sésamo, Vives returned to voice acting full-time, becoming a highly prolific dub artist. In the context of anime, she is known for providing the Spanish voice for Lillibit in the 1980 Japanese series Mori no Yōki na Kobito-tachi: Berufi to Rirubitto, known in Spain as Belfy y Lillibit. She also voiced the character of Nello Daas in the European Spanish dub of the 1975 anime adaptation of A Dog of Flanders.

Her extensive voice work in anime and animated series dubbed into Spanish includes a vast array of characters. Her credits encompass roles in major franchises such as various Pokémon series and movies, where she voiced characters like Ritchie, Chris, and Cameron. Vices also voiced Markl in the Spanish dub of Howl's Moving Castle and took on the role of Pereza, or Sloth, in Fullmetal Alchemist.
