Gastone Pescucci was an Italian actor and voice actor, born in Certaldo on July 21, 1926, who became a familiar voice to audiences of Italian-dubbed anime during the 1970s and 1980s. He passed away in Rome on October 28, 1998. Prior to his extensive voice work, Pescucci built a career as a character actor in Italian cinema, appearing in numerous films and television productions from the mid-1960s onward. His live-action roles included parts in commedie all'italiana such as Il medico della mutua and Per grazia ricevuta, as well as poliziotteschi films like Milano calibro 9.

As a voice actor, Pescucci contributed to the Italian versions of many popular animated series. He provided the voice for Lasse in the anime The Wonderful Adventures of Nils. In The Brave Frog, he was the first voice for the character Kyal, and also voiced Demetan in the same series. He voiced Sancho in the 1980 anime series Zukkoke Knight - Don De La Mancha, with the Italian dub produced in 1983. For the series Voltes V, Pescucci was the first Italian voice for both Ivan and the character Galem.

Beyond the roles mentioned, Pescucci's voice work was prolific and spanned a wide range of anime and animated series. He is particularly well-known as the first Italian voice of Boss in UFO Robot Goldrake (Grendizer) and as the voice of the villain Gargamella in the early seasons and episodes of The Smurfs. His other notable anime roles included Takoro in Tondemo Senshi Muteking, the title character Demetan in La banda dei ranocchi, Tora in Ginguiser, and Daikichi in Gowapper 5 Godam. He also voiced characters in western animation dubbed into Italian, such as Clint Clobber in Tom & Jerry. In many of these series, his roles were later taken over by other voice actors, such as Carlo Cosolo, indicating a period of active collaboration within the Italian dubbing industry. Pescucci's body of work left a significant mark on the childhoods of Italian viewers who grew up watching these imported series.
