Claire Guyot

Description
Claire Guyot is a French actress and singer, born in Paris in 1966, who has built a prolific career since the early 1990s, primarily in the field of dubbing for French-language versions of foreign films and television series. While she is best known as the regular French voice for numerous Hollywood actresses such as Winona Ryder, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Teri Hatcher, her work also extends to animation, including some roles in anime productions.

In the realm of anime, Guyot contributed her voice to the Japanese animated film Elmer no Bōken - My Father's Dragon, a 1997 adventure film based on the children's books by Ruth Stiles Gannett. In the French dubbed version of this film, she voiced the character of Boris the dragon. This role stands as a notable example of her work within the specific context of anime, lending her voice to a central character in a Japanese production. Additionally, her filmography includes a role in the French dub of the anime series Blake et Mortimer in 1997, where she voiced the character Margaret, further demonstrating her involvement in the genre.

Guyot's voice acting career is characterized by its extensive range and her ability to become the definitive French voice for several major international stars. Her entry into dubbing came through the influence of Jacqueline Porel, and she quickly became one of the first French voices for Winona Ryder, starting with films like Edward Scissorhands. A significant boost to her career came when director Jean-Pierre Jeunet specifically chose her to dub Ryder in Alien Resurrection in 1997, following a period when she had been temporarily absent from dubbing work. However, it was her role as the voice of Sarah Michelle Gellar in the immensely popular television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer that brought her widespread recognition. This led to her voicing Gellar in numerous films such as Scream 2 and Cruel Intentions. Concurrently, she became the established French voice for Teri Hatcher, first in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and later in Desperate Housewives.

Beyond her work in dubbing, Claire Guyot is also a trained singer, a talent she has frequently utilized in her voice acting. She provided both the speaking and singing voice for Princess Ariel in the initial French dub of Disney's The Little Mermaid and has reprised the role in various sequels and related projects. Her musical abilities have also led to roles in theater, including performing in the musical Mamma Mia! at the Théâtre Mogador in 2010 and 2011, and to the release of a solo album in 2009. In addition to her on-screen and voice work, Guyot has also worked as a artistic director, supervising the dubbing for television series such as Cold Case. She is the mother of two voice actors, Camille Gondard and Martin Faliu, from her marriage to fellow dubbing actor Serge Faliu, continuing a family legacy in the profession.
