Natália Luiza

Description
Natália Luiza is a Portuguese actress, stage director, and voice actress with a extensive career in theater, television, and dubbing. Born in Lourenço Marques, Mozambique, on May 24, 1960, she pursued higher education in Portugal, earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Lisbon and a degree in Theatre from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema. Her professional training laid the foundation for a versatile career that spans live-action performance and voice work for animated productions.

Luiza has been particularly active in dubbing, providing the European Portuguese voices for numerous characters in international animated and live-action films, with a significant number of credits for Disney. Her notable dubbing roles include the villainous Cruella de Vil in the live-action 101 Dalmatians and 102 Dalmatians, as well as for the original animated film's DVD re-release. She also voiced Yzma in The Emperor's New Groove and its animated series, Kala in Tarzan and its sequels, Mama Odie in The Princess and the Frog, the Witch in Brave, and Flo in the Cars franchise. Beyond Disney, her voice acting credits include Tommy Pickles in the early seasons of Rugrats and the character Weebo in Flubber.

In the realm of anime, Natália Luiza contributed to the Portuguese-dubbed version of the Japanese series Hey! Bumboo. She provided the voice for the character Quim during the initial episodes of the series, which aired in Portugal between 1988 and 1989. Her time as the voice of Quim was followed by a replacement, Margarida Rosa Rodrigues, who took over the role later in the series. This work is a specific example of her broader career in dubbing, which has made her a recognizable voice in Portuguese adaptations of international productions.
