Piera Vidale

Piera Vidale was an Italian actress and voice actress, renowned for her extensive work in dubbing, particularly in anime during the 1970s and 1980s. Born in Milan on June 6, 1944, she became a prominent figure in the Italian dubbing industry. She was married to fellow dubbing artist Franco Latini and was the mother of voice actor Fabrizio Vidale, forming a notable family legacy in the field. Vidale passed away in Rome on November 28, 2018.
Her career encompassed a wide range of voice roles in Japanese anime. She is perhaps best known as the original Italian voice of the character Fujiko Mine in the early series of Lupin III, a role for which she is particularly remembered. Her other significant anime roles included Jenny Nolan (Hiromi Oka) in the first dubbing of Jenny la tennista and Alice Mitsuko in Occhi di gatto. She also voiced the title character Misha in Koguma no Misha, as well as additional characters in that series. Her portfolio included a variety of other anime, such as providing voices for Sally la maga, Charlotte, and Dotakon. Beyond anime, she lent her voice to numerous American animated series, including Penelope Pitstop in Le avventure di Penelope Pitstop, Jane Jetson in I pronipoti, and Goldie Gold in Goldie Gold e Action Jack.
