Andi Whaley
Description
Andi Whaley is an American former voice actress known for her work in English-language dubs of anime series produced by 4Kids Entertainment during the 2000s. Before entering voice acting, she worked as a theatre actress. Her career in anime voiceovers was primarily associated with 4Kids, where she contributed to several of their most prominent localized series.
Whaley is perhaps best recognized for her role as Cassidy in the English dub of the Pokémon anime. She took over the role from Megan Hollingshead during the Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire arc, also known as the Advanced Generation series. Cassidy, a recurring antagonist and member of Team Rocket alongside her partner Butch, became Whaley's most famous voiceover role, a part she has stated was her favorite. Her tenure as the character continued until she was later succeeded by Emily Williams. In addition to Cassidy, her other Pokémon credits include voicing the Gym Leader Liza from the Mossdeep City duo Tate and Liza and providing the voice for a Teddiursa in Pokémon Chronicles.
Beyond Pokémon, Whaley voiced the character Laralie in the 4Kids English adaptation of the magical girl anime Ojamajo Doremi, which was localized under the title Magical DoReMi. Her casting in the role was confirmed in a 2005 cast list released for the series. Her other notable voice roles from this period include Lockette in the 4Kids version of Winx Club, Corina Bucksworth in Mew Mew Power (the English adaptation of Tokyo Mew Mew), and Mabel Moozipan in the television series Viva Piñata.
In 2009, Whaley transitioned away from a career in voice acting. She founded a fitness blog called Hit & Runners and relocated to Denver, Colorado. Since then, her professional activities have included coaching kickboxing, writing, and participating in marathon running. She also holds a black belt in martial arts.
