Alessandra Cassioli is an Italian voice actress, born in Rome on August 26, 1965. Her career spans live-action dubbing, animation, and video games. She began gaining prominence for her voice work in the 1990s. She is the primary Italian voice for actresses such as Viola Davis, Angela Bassett, Toni Collette, and Queen Latifah. Her most iconic and long-standing role is that of Xena, played by Lucy Lawless, in the television series Xena: Warrior Princess, a part she voiced from 1995 to 2001. This collaboration with Lawless continued in other projects like Hercules, Spartacus, and Ash vs. Evil Dead. In television, she has also been a regular voice for Angela Bassett in the American Horror Story series and 9-1-1. In animation, she voiced the antagonist Aracne in the Studio Ghibli film Tales from Earthsea. She is also known for her role as Lady Eboshi in both dubs of Princess Mononoke. Her other notable anime and animated roles include Isabella in Paradise Kiss, Shion Karanomori in Psycho-Pass, Haggar in Voltron: Legendary Defender, the computer of the Axiom in WALL-E, Bulda in Frozen, and one of the voices of Anger in Inside Out. In 2007, she won the Gran Premio Internazionale del Doppiaggio as Best Supporting Voice Actress for her performance in Little Miss Sunshine. In 2008, she served on the jury for the same awards. Her work extends to video games, where she is known for voicing characters such as Freya in God of War and God of War Ragnarök.
