Gil Baroni, born Gilfranco Baroni on March 13, 1937, in Como, Italy, was an Italian actor and voice actor. He passed away on April 26, 2020, in Rome. He was the father of two children, Emanuela Baroni and Marco Baroni, who also became voice actors.

Baroni's career in anime voice acting is primarily associated with the Italian dubs of classic series and films. He is most recognized for his long-standing role as the character Boss in the Italian versions of various productions from the Mazinger franchise. His work as Boss is documented in the original Mazinger Z television series, the film Mazinger Z tai Ankoku Daishougun, the OVA series Mazinkaiser, and the movie Great Mazinger tai Getter Robo. This recurring role made his voice a familiar element for Italian fans of the mecha genre.

Beyond the world of Mazinger, Baroni's anime voice credits include the character Flip in the film Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, the role of Higeoyaji in the 1980 Astro Boy television series, and the Crane Hermit in the first Italian edition of the Dragon Ball movie Mystical Adventure. His work often involved voicing supporting or comedic characters.

In addition to his anime work, Baroni had an extensive career dubbing live-action films and television series. Notably, he provided the Italian voice for Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth in several Batman films of the 1990s, including Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin. He was also the Italian voice of Tom Bosley in the popular television series Happy Days.
