Kelly Ray

Description
Kelly Ray is an American actress known for her work in anime voice acting, live-action horror films, and theater. Born and raised in Gastonia, North Carolina, she developed an interest in acting during the third grade. She pursued this passion by moving to New York City to study at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, graduating from its studio program in 1999. After a brief period back in North Carolina performing in community theater, she returned to New York to establish herself as a professional working actress.

Ray has lent her voice to the English adaptations of numerous anime titles. One of her noted roles is as Yuki Samejima in the English dub of the anime OVA Kizuna, a drama based on the manga by Kazuma Kodaka. She also voiced the character Ichiko Ono in the Kyoto Animation OVAs Munto and its sequel, Munto 2: Beyond the Walls of Time.

Her other significant anime voice roles include Yuri Otani in Alien Nine, Shiina Tamai in Shadow Star Narutaru, and Himiko in The Mask of Zeguy. She also provided voices for the series Gravitation, Ojamajo Doremi (as Amaretta), and Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters. In addition to anime, her voice work extends to Korean animation, such as the character Angdu in the film Hammerboy, and to video games, including the roles of Shania and Anne in Shadow Hearts: From the New World.

Throughout her career in English dubs, Ray has frequently collaborated with a consistent group of voice actors and production staff based in New York. This includes directors and actors such as Tom Wayland, Dan Green, and Michael Sinterniklaas, who are often associated with anime productions from that era.

Beyond voice acting, Ray has built a career in live-action film, particularly in the horror genre, with credits including The Mill, Zombies Anonymous, and Blood Relic. She continues to work as an actress across both voice and on-screen mediums.
