Kanata Aikawa

Description
Kanata Aikawa is a Japanese voice actor affiliated with the agency Music Ray'n. She was born in Hyogo Prefecture on October 20, 2004.

Her interest in a career that involved singing began in childhood. During her later elementary school years, she became a fan of anime and discovered the voice acting profession. She was inspired to pursue this path after realizing that voice actors could also sing, particularly noting that the main cast member of an anime she was watching also performed the ending theme song. This anime was The Seven Deadly Sins, and the voice actor was Amamiya Sora, who later became her senpai at the same agency. In junior high school, influenced by her father who played basketball, she joined an English-language drama club. This decision was motivated by her interest in English and the knowledge that many voice actors had experience in theater during their school years. Her parents informed her about a audition being held by Music Ray'n, which she decided to take on as a challenge. She successfully passed through the document screening and multiple rounds of auditions, ultimately participating in the final training camp.

Aikawa made her debut as a voice actor in 2021. That year, she landed her first leading role as the protagonist Ai Oto in the television anime series Wonder Egg Priority. In the same year, she also voiced the character Suzu Narumiya in the multimedia project Idoly Pride, which included its television anime adaptation.

Beyond these prominent debut roles, Aikawa has continued to build her career. Her additional anime credits include roles in Blue Orchestra, World Dai Star, and Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudō. She has also contributed to video games, including the Idoly Pride game and Kairisei Million Arthur.

As a singer, Aikawa has performed character songs related to her roles. With the cast of Idoly Pride, she performed the opening and ending theme songs for the anime, as well as other related songs under the group name Hoshimi Production. For Wonder Egg Priority, she was part of the unit Anemoneria, which performed the anime's opening and ending theme songs.

Aikawa is part of the third generation of talents under Music Ray'n, having passed the company's third super voice actor audition in 2017. In 2022, she received the Newcomer Actress Award at the 16th Seiyu Awards, a prestigious honor recognizing promising up-and-coming voice actors. Her hobbies include singing and reading, with a particular fondness for mystery novels by authors such as Kotaro Isaka and Keigo Higashino. She also lists English conversation as a skill.
