Haruka Nakamura
Description
Haruka Nakamura is a Japanese voice actress, singer, and radio personality from Kanagawa Prefecture with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry. She is most famously known as the voice of the character Milk-chan in the anime series The Super Milk-chan Show, for which she also performed the theme song.
Nakamura's most prominent and long-standing role is Haruka Amami, the lead character in the multi-platform The IDOLM@STER franchise, a part she has played since 2005. This role has been central to her career, involving work on numerous video games, anime adaptations such as The IDOLM@STER and The IDOLM@STER Million Live!, and hundreds of CD recordings and live concert performances. Her portrayal of Haruka Amami earned her the Best Female Voice Actor award at the Newtype Anime Awards in 2012.
Beyond this signature role, her voice acting credits are varied. She voices Mikage Kiryuu in the Space Battleship Yamato 2199 series and its sequel films, and Beatrice "Lilium" Anastasi in the game Freedom Wars. Other roles include Chisato Sumiyoshi in Love, Elections, and Chocolate, and Belgium in the Hetalia - Axis Powers franchise. In a 2018 episode of the viral anime Pop Team Epic, she co-starred with fellow voice actress Asami Imai, taking on the role of Popuko.
Nakamura's career is marked by a deep, multi-faceted association with The IDOLM@STER series, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025. Cast as a relatively unknown newcomer, her portrayal of Haruka Amami was initially considered a gamble by producers who wanted a voice without strong pre-existing associations. Over the years, she grew with the character and the franchise, becoming a central figure in its success and a representative for its first generation of idols. Her work has taken her to major venues, including a performance at the Tokyo Dome, and she has been a featured guest at international conventions like Anime Central in Chicago. In addition to her acting, she is recognized for her skills as a narrator and radio host, where her talk and hosting abilities are highly regarded.
