Martin Burke

Martin Burke is an American voice actor and theatre actor, born on February 12, 1968, and based in Austin, Texas. His career in anime dubbing is closely associated with the English-language productions of the 1990s and early 2000s.

Burke is perhaps best known for voicing the iconic character Sonic the Hedgehog in the 1996 English-language release of Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. His other prominent roles in anime include Shiro Kabuto in Mazinkaiser, Touma Inaba in Sakura Diaries, Hiroshi Umino in Queen Emeraldas, and Tokisada Shiro Amakusa in Ninja Resurrection. His filmography also features voice work in other series such as Dai-Guard, where he voiced the character Sumida, and Getter Robo Armageddon, where he played Yoshida.

Beyond his voice work for animation, Burke has also appeared in acting roles in underground films, including Lethal Force and Blood Chase. In addition to his screen work, he is an accomplished stage actor and comedian, frequently performing with the ZACH Theatre in Austin. His contributions to the local arts have been recognized, with The Austin Chronicle dubbing him Austins Favorite Actor.
