Description
Bo Williams is the pseudonym of the late American actor Kirk Baily, who was active in anime voice-over from the 1990s through the 2010s. He used this alias for much of his work in English dubs of Japanese anime, alongside other pseudonyms such as Paul Baily and Bill Williams.
Baily began his career in the entertainment industry on the live-action side, working as a sound coordinator on the film Killer Klowns from Outer Space and appearing in television series like the Nickelodeon cult classic Salute Your Shorts. He transitioned into voice acting, becoming a familiar presence in the English dubs of some of the most influential anime series of the 1990s and 2000s.
Under the name Bo Williams, he is perhaps best known for his roles in several seminal anime titles. In the science fiction western Cowboy Bebop, he voiced the character Shin, a young Red Dragon Crime Syndicate associate whose fate is closely tied to the backstory of the protagonist, Spike Spiegel. He played the primary antagonist, Millions Knives, the powerful and nihilistic brother of the protagonist in the series Trigun. In the classic shojo fantasy series Fushigi Yugi and its OVA sequels, including Fushigi Yugi Eikoden, he provided the voice for the recurring character Tetsuya Kajiwara, a friend of the main cast from the real world.
