Mitchell Ray

Description
Mitchell Ray is the name most commonly associated with the voice acting career of Randy Alan McPherson, an American voice actor active in the dubbing of anime series and original video animations during the 1990s and early 2000s. His work is primarily documented through credits from the English-language adaptations of several notable Japanese animated productions.

Ray's filmography demonstrates that he performed under multiple stage names throughout his career, including Randy Alan and Sean Mitchell, in addition to Mitchell Ray. This practice was not uncommon in the industry at the time. Under the name Mitchell Ray, he is credited with the role of Shun Ukiya in the television series Gate Keepers. However, his most frequently cited and recognizable role is that of the wandering monk Chichiri in the Fushigi Yugi franchise. He voiced this character under both the Mitchell Ray and Sean Mitchell names across different installments, including the original Fushigi Yugi television series, its subsequent original video animations, and the final OVA series, Fushigi Yugi Eikoden.

His other voice work under the Sean Mitchell alias includes a role in the cult classic series Trigun, where he provided the voice for a Cowboy in one episode, and a role as Chuck Keith in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. He also contributed to the distinctive sound of Serial Experiments Lain as a Voice on WIRED. Under the Randy Alan name, his credits include roles in the English dub of Street Fighter II V as the character Fei-Long and various supporting roles in series like El-Hazard and Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. His work was part of the wave of anime localization that brought these titles to Western audiences through dubs produced at the time.
