Robert Missler

Description
Robert Missler was a German actor and voice artist, born in East Berlin in 1958. His career was marked by extensive work in dubbing, radio plays, and live performance. After studying graphic design and completing private acting training, he worked as a musician, cabaret artist, and stage actor, including a long-running involvement with the comedy duo Muskelkater. He was active in the industry until his retirement in 2017.

Missler was highly regarded for his vocal versatility, often described as a vocal acrobat. This skill made him a sought-after talent for dubbing international films and television series, as well as for character voices in animation and video games. He was the German voice of Grobi (Grover) from Sesame Street, a role that brought him widespread recognition. He also dubbed Gary Valentine's character Danny Heffernan in the sitcom King of Queens and provided the German voice for Robert Sean Leonard's Dr. James Wilson in the medical series Dr. House.

Within the realm of anime, Missler was known for voicing Might Guy, also known as Maito Gai, in the German dubs of the Naruto series and subsequent films. He first took on this role for the original Naruto anime and continued with Naruto Shippūden, providing the character's voice for the majority of the series before being succeeded by Eberhard Haar. His voice can also be heard in the German versions of other animated works, such as the Disney film The Princess and the Frog, where he voiced the Cajun firefly Ray.

Beyond on-screen dubbing, Missler was a prolific figure in German audio drama and audiobook production. He contributed to long-running series like Die drei Fragezeichen and performed leading roles in productions such as the fantasy saga Die Legende von Mythrâs and the children's book series Die Schule der magischen Tiere. His voice was also prominent in the video game industry, where he was the voice of the assassin droid HK-47 in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the male blood elves in World of Warcraft.
