Noah Cyrus

Description
Noah Cyrus is an American singer and actress who provided a notable voice performance in an anime film during her childhood. Born Noah Lindsey Cyrus on January 8, 2000, in Nashville, Tennessee, she began her acting career at a very young age, appearing in the television series Doc at the age of two. She also had small roles in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, in which her older sister, Miley Cyrus, starred.

In the context of anime voice acting, Cyrus is primarily known for her sole, yet significant, role in a major animated production. She voiced the title character in the English-language dubbed version of the 2008 Studio Ghibli film Ponyo, which was released in the United States in 2009. This marked her first major film role. The film, directed by the acclaimed Hayao Miyazaki, featured an English voice cast that also included Frankie Jonas, with whom Cyrus performed the English version of the film's theme song. Her work on Ponyo remains her most prominent credit within the anime industry.

Following her early acting work, Cyrus transitioned to focus primarily on a music career, signing a record deal in 2016 and releasing her debut single "Make Me (Cry)". While she has continued to act occasionally, including a guest appearance in the television series American Horror Stories in 2021, she has not taken on any other known anime voice roles. Her voice performance in Ponyo, therefore, stands as a distinct and early entry in her career as an entertainer.
