Renato Master

Renato Master was a Brazilian actor and voice actor, born Renato Mastrorosa in São Paulo on January 26, 1939. He passed away on May 26, 2004, in his hometown while working at the Dubla Vídeo studio.
His career began in television as an actor, with his debut in the 1964 telenovela A Moça que Veio de Longe. Over the following decades, he built an extensive filmography as an actor, appearing in numerous telenovelas on major Brazilian networks such as Rede Globo, TV Tupi, and TV Excelsior, as well as in several films.
Parallel to his on-screen acting, Master developed a significant career as a voice actor, becoming a well-recognized figure in Brazilian dubbing. He lent his voice to a wide variety of characters in anime, live-action series, and films. He was also a dubbing director for some productions.
His work in anime includes several notable roles. He voiced Indrajit in the Japanese-Indian co-produced film Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama. He was the voice of the dragon Shen Long in the Portuguese dubs of Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. In the Saint Seiya series, he voiced Mitsumasa Kido, the patriarch who gathered the Saints. His other anime credits include roles in Ghost in the Shell as Nakamura, Rurouni Kenshin, and Street Fighter II V.
Beyond anime, Master's voice was featured prominently in Japanese tokusatsu series that were popular in Brazil. He was known for roles such as Mr. Akiyama in Jaspion, Doctor Kamasawa in Changeman, and the villain Desmark in Goggle V. His dubbing work also extended to Western animation and live-action films; for instance, he voiced Kibosh in Casper: A Spirited Beginning and provided the Brazilian Portuguese voice for Denethor in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Ring, which was his final dubbing project.
