Description
Nemesis is the primary antagonist of the series and the leader of the Outriders, a race of humanoid beings from an alternate dimension called the Vapor Zone. He is the mastermind behind the Outriders' campaign to conquer the human dimension, having created the Vapor Trail that allows his forces to cross between dimensions. Nemesis is physically imposing, appearing as a very tall, cloaked figure with a robotic face resembling a bull's skull, and he is rarely seen outside his throne room. He delegates direct battlefield command to lieutenants such as Gattler and Vanquoo, preferring to oversee operations from afar. His personality is marked by impatience and a weary, cynical wit; he often expresses boredom with his subordinates and seems to find their efforts tiresome.

Nemesis's motivations stem from the Outriders' need for resources, as their own dimension and artificial homeworld have been exhausted. He seeks to dominate humanity and exploit the human dimension's abundance. In the series' later episodes, his true nature is revealed: he is not a typical Outrider. Years earlier, he was mortally wounded in a battle against humans, and his consciousness was then integrated into the Triton Matter, a mysterious energy source and tower on the Outriders' artificial planet. His mind now exists as a supercomputer within this structure, allowing him to control vast amounts of energy and to project his will through any number of identical cyborg bodies. This makes him effectively invulnerable as long as the planet itself remains intact; he can be destroyed only by the planet's explosion.

Key relationships include his alliance with the traitorous human Jesse Blue, whom he uses to further his schemes, and his direct adversarial connection to Saber Rider, the only Star Sheriff to confront him in a one-on-one laser-sword duel in the episode "Stampede." Nemesis's notable abilities include his complete control over the Nth degree energy, the power to create and manipulate the Vapor Trail, and his capacity to inhabit multiple synthetic bodies, each possessing his full will and intelligence. Throughout the series, he remains a remote, enigmatic figure whose true form and limitations are only fully understood in the final confrontation.
