Takahiro Yokokawa

Description
Takahiro Yokokawa is a former Japanese child actor and voice actor, born on August 11, 1993, in Tokyo. He began his entertainment career as a child, joining the theater troupe Gekidan Nihon Jido, also known as the Japan Children's Theater troupe. He later became a freelance artist.

Yokokawa is best known for his lead role as Koichi Uehara, a fourth-grade boy who befriends a mythical kappa, in the acclaimed 2007 animated film Summer Days with Coo. Following the success of this film, he took a brief hiatus from show business but returned in 2009 to voice the character Takashi Sakuma in the hit anime film Summer Wars. His other voice acting credits include providing the Japanese dub for Joey in the film Christmas Magic: Present Is the Weather Machine and appearing in the animated films Colorful and Shaggy Dog. Outside of animation, he appeared in the NHK Educational TV program Understanding Math for Sixth Graders and in commercials for Ebara Foods and Nikon.

A notable professional relationship for Yokokawa was his friendship with fellow actor Ryunosuke Kamiki. Their bond, formed while working together on films, was discussed in the audio commentary for the Summer Wars Blu-ray and DVD release. While his performances in films like Summer Days with Coo and Summer Wars were well-received, there are no public records of him receiving individual awards for his work. After a relatively short career in the entertainment industry, Yokokawa stepped away from the public eye.
