Description
Katie Griffin is a Canadian actress and voice actress born on January 14, 1973, who has been active in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s. She is widely recognized for her extensive work in English dubs of anime series produced in Canada.

Griffin's career in anime voice acting began with her first major role as the voice of Sailor Mars, also known as Raye Hino, in the original English Canadian dub of the popular series Sailor Moon. She was recommended for the audition by Rino Romano, the voice of Tuxedo Mask, and went on to voice the character across several series and films, including Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S, and Sailor Moon SuperS, as well as the associated feature films. This role remains one of her most iconic performances.

She is also well-known for her long-running role as Alex, one of the three main protagonists, in the animated series Totally Spies!. For this character, she used a higher vocal register than her natural speaking voice. Her other notable anime dubbing work includes voicing Hikaru Hasama and Mei-Mei in the Beyblade series, specifically in Beyblade: Metal Fusion, Metal Masters, and Metal Fury.

Griffin has a significant presence in the Bakugan franchise. She provided the voice for the character Julie Makimoto, a core member of the Battle Brawlers, across multiple series. Her portrayal of Julie spanned Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia, Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders, and Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge. In the final arc of the series, Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge, she also voiced a different character, the antagonist Sellon, a mysterious and powerful brawler who serves the primary villain, Mag Mel. This demonstrates her range in performing both heroic and villainous roles within the same franchise.

Throughout her career, Griffin has collaborated frequently with the Toronto voice acting community, working on productions for studios like The Post Shop and Deschamps Recording Studios. Her work often places her alongside other prominent Canadian voice actors such as Emilie-Claire Barlow and Drew Nelson. Beyond the titles mentioned, her other voice credits in anime-influenced or animated productions include roles in Air Master, Redakai: Conquer the Kairu, and the English adaptation of Knights of the Zodiac.

Griffin's contributions to anime and animation have made her a recognizable figure at fan conventions. She has been a guest at numerous events across North America, including Otakon, Anime Expo, and various Comic-Cons, where she meets with fans of Sailor Moon, Totally Spies!, and Bakugan. Her long-standing and versatile career has established her as a significant talent in the field of Canadian voice acting for international animation.
