Takayuki Godai

Description
Takayuki Godai is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on July 1, 1956. His career encompasses both on-screen performances in live-action television and film, as well as extensive voice work in anime and tokusatsu series. His stage name is derived from a character portrayed by actor Yujiro Ishihara in the 1969 film Eiko e no 5,000 kiro.

Godai is known for his roles in the Super Sentai series, a franchise in which he has both acted and voiced characters. He played the role of Takayuki Hiba, also known as Vul Eagle II, in the 1981 series Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan and its film adaptation. He later provided the voice for the character Hakumenrou in the 1994 series Ninja Sentai Kakuranger. He also voiced the character Saw Banki in Engine Sentai Go-Onger in 2008.

In anime, Godai is recognized for his role as the primary antagonist Akudaikaan in the 2006 magical girl series Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star, a part he played for the series' entire 49-episode run. He also voiced the character Junichi Kijima in the 2015 anime special The File of Young Kindaichi Returns: The File of Inspector Akechi. His other anime voice roles include Mugear in Fullmetal Alchemist and Pele in Kouchuu Ouja Mushiking: Mori no Tami no Densetsu.

Beyond these genres, Godai has appeared in a wide range of television dramas, known as dorama, such as the long-running jidaigeki Abarenbō Shōgun, where he played the recurring role of the ninja Saizō. His film credits include the 1985 adaptation of Yukio Mishima's novel The Sound of Waves, known as Shiosai, and the 2006 horror film Eko eko azaraku: B-page.
