Silvio Anselmo is an Italian actor and voice actor, born on May 2, 1936, in Mondovì, in the Piedmont region of Italy. His career began after he graduated from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts Silvio d'Amico in Rome in 1960, after which he worked continuously in theatre, cinema, radio, television, and dubbing. His classical training included performing in stage productions of works by Shakespeare, such as Hamlet directed by Franco Zeffirelli, and works by Pirandello and Goldoni.

In the realm of voice acting, Anselmo is known for providing the Italian voice for numerous characters in animated series and films. He is particularly recognized for his long-standing work on the Italian dubbing of the animated series The Simpsons, where he voiced multiple recurring characters including the Comic Book Guy, Captain McAllister, Hans Moleman, and was the first voice of Kirk Van Houten. He also voiced the character Scruffy Scruffington in the first five seasons of Futurama.

His work in anime is extensive. He voiced the character Doctor in the 1988 animated film The Rose of Versailles: I'll Love You As Long As I Live. He is also credited as the voice of Count de Mercier in the related television series The Rose of Versailles. His other notable anime roles include Gabal Docker in Gurren Lagann, Boris Lupescu in Ransie la strega (Tokimeki Tonight), and various characters in series such as Inuyasha, Cyborg 009, and Mobile Suit Gundam. He also voiced Warnel in Dinofroz and provided voices for films such as Giovanni's Island and the 2015 redub of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. In addition to animation, his dubbing career includes voicing Harrison Ford in the film American Graffiti 2 and Hank Azaria in Piume di struzzo.
