J. Shanon Weaver is an American actor with extensive experience in voice acting for anime and video game English dubs, as well as in live-action film, television, and theatre. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Georgia, also receiving conservatory training at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York.
Weaver's career in anime voice acting began in the late 1990s and early 2000s, a period during which he voiced several prominent roles. One of his earliest and most significant roles was providing the English voice for the protagonist, Kenshin Himura, across multiple productions in the Rurouni Kenshin franchise. His credits for this character include the 1997 film Rurouni Kenshin: The Movie, the 1999 mini-series Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal, the 2001 mini-series Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection, and the 2011-2012 mini-series Rurouni Kenshin: New Kyoto Arc.
