Kana Matsumoto is a Japanese actress and former voice actress born on March 18, 1989, in Matsusaka, Mie Prefecture. She began her entertainment career in 2005 with a role in the live-action television drama 1 Litre of Tears, where she portrayed Saki Matsumura. The following year, she made her debut as an anime voice actor, landing her most prominent role in the medium as the protagonist Himawari Hinata in the television series Himawari!. She reprised this role for the show's second season, Himawari!, which aired in 2007. Beyond this lead anime role, her on-screen work includes appearances in several other television dramas and films, such as Dance Drill and the movie The Dog in a Sidecar. Matsumoto was formerly affiliated with the talent agency Fujiga Office Inc. Her career in the entertainment industry was relatively brief, as she chose to retire from her performing activities to focus on her university studies and subsequent job search, leading to the removal of her official agency profile.
