J-Ray

Description
J-Ray, also credited as J-Ray Hochfield, is an American actor known for voice work in English adaptations of anime series during the 1990s and early 2000s. One of his notable early roles was providing the English voice for the character Lote, a member of the Red Snappers team, in the 1996 anime series Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko. He also voiced the character Kuu in the English adaptation of the surreal anime Haibane Renmei in 2002.

His work in anime frequently brought him into collaboration with a consistent group of voice actors and ADR staff. In both Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko and Haibane Renmei, he worked alongside Taliesin Jaffe, Hunter Mackenzie Austin, Zarah Little, and Sharon McWilliams, among others. This pattern of recurring collaborations suggests he was part of a regular pool of talent employed by a particular dubbing studio or director during that era.

Beyond anime voice acting, J-Ray's career includes appearances in live-action film and television. His credits include small roles in the films Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Love Guru, as well as the television movie A Thousand Cuts.
